Imran Khan's Eye Condition: SC Orders Medical Examination & Family Contact (2026)

A shocking revelation has emerged, leaving many in disbelief. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan claims to have lost most of his vision in one eye, and the Supreme Court is taking action. But here's where it gets controversial...

The Battle for Imran's Vision

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered a medical team to examine Imran Khan's eye, following a report that quoted him saying he has only 15% vision left in his right eye. This development has sparked a debate and raised concerns about the former premier's health and well-being.

The court also directed that Imran be allowed to speak to his children, with both the eye inspection and phone calls to take place before a set deadline.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, emphasized the importance of Imran's health, stating that intervention was necessary. The top judge wanted to know the government's stance on providing medical care, to which the Attorney General for Pakistan responded by affirming the state's responsibility.

However, a controversial point arises here. While the government claims to take responsibility, Imran's legal team and family members argue that his medical needs have not been adequately addressed.

Imran's lawyer, Advocate Salman Safdar, submitted a detailed report to the Supreme Court, highlighting the former premier's living conditions in Adiala jail. Safdar quoted Imran as saying he had experienced a rapid decline in vision and a lack of timely medical intervention.

"Throughout the meeting, Imran's eyes were watery, reflecting his physical discomfort and distress over the loss of vision," Safdar recalled.

And this is the part most people miss... Imran claims that despite repeated requests, his personal physicians were not allowed access during this critical period. He further alleges that no dentist had examined him for two years, despite his age and dental needs.

The report also details the lack of regular blood tests and the limited treatment provided, consisting only of eye drops.

A medical report dated February 6, signed by Pims Executive Director Dr. Rana Imran Sikander, was submitted to the court. It recommended hospital-based follow-up treatment for Imran's right central retinal vein occlusion.

However, questions remain about the full details of Imran's medical episodes and the identity of the ophthalmologist who conducted the tests.

This case has sparked a heated debate, with many questioning the government's handling of Imran's medical care.

So, what do you think? Is the government doing enough to ensure Imran's well-being? Or is there more to this story that needs to be uncovered? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
